Thank you to everyone who came out to make this annual fundraising event such a success for us!
There were 36 models; 12 men, 6 women and 18 dogs. The people wore the latest fall fashions from Outlooks Menswear and Bernstein & Gold boutiques and the dogs were in decked out in lovely leashes and collars from Paws on Cook.
There was a silent auction, food prepared with love by Happy Appies, beer poured by Hoyne Brewery and the Kinsmen came out to the tend the bar. Jawl Properties donated the fabulous Atrium Space and Telus not only provided volunteers and a place for our models and dogs to prepare, they donated $5000! The most popular part of the entire evening may well have been the puppy petting station, sponsored by the Downtown Vet.
And of course, a great big thanks to our VHS volunteers who gave so much of their time to ensure all of the four legged participants were taken care of in addition to runnning the silent auction, helping with clean-up and so much more.
The evening began with a mix and mingle and the show started at 7:30 with what was supposed to be a ‘Running of the Puppies’. We hoped they might follow Penny Stone across the stage but they preferred to be carried. It was a highly amusing start.
The event sold out almost a week in advance this year so be sure to watch our event space and get in early in 2018 – this is too much fun to miss.
